I bought Elements of Literature for a class I was taking. This is a monster of a book, 1600 pages with small print. Not my idea of easy reading. It didn’t remain on my bookshelf because I’ve only got so much space. It was too pedantic for me. And if I can sell a textbook, I usually sell it.
